Great, now take the towel and put it away! Sounds and looks great, congratulations. In high school I had a 56 C@$#y convertible, knew almost nothing about cars, and for 3 months I had to push start it because it wouldn't start with the starter. Finally a friend of a friend suggested I get a new coil. Bingo, it started every time! The old one was just slightly too weak to fire it up.
Had a coil problem this weekend with the high heat...in talking with a buddy he said that 90% of all fuel problems are electrical and 90% of all electrical problems turn out to be fuel related. I had to laugh because 9 out of 10 people who commented about this high heat engine stopping problem said it was vapor lock!
Good luck with your new $3,000 coil!
I think there is something missing. I didn't see any flames jumping up out of the carbs nor did I hear any backfiring....what the heck??
Congrats!!
Bobby
Yeah, I know! I couldn't believe it myself on how quiet and smooth the engine was. We did get a little backfiring (no actual fire) through the first carb on an accelaration, but it all needs is some fine tuning.
I just hope nothing else goes wrong after this small victory.
I remember back in the '93-'95 timeframe, I restored my '78 Bronco...I remember the moment it started...fresh engine with a performer cam.
I am sure it was the same for you! I can't wait for that day again!
