Will 31 x 10.5 x 15 fit on a stock '79 4 x 4?

Yes,, either F150/250 or 350,, you can cram 35's on some,, depends on the springs and how much they have sagged,,

33''x12.5" fit on my stock '76 4x4 F-100, they do rub if you turn them all the way

Without a doubt, they'll fit. With proper backspacing, you could could get a 35x12.5 on there, so a 31 won't be an issue.

31s are pretty much stock size.

I have 33x12.5r15s right now that came on the truck with no apparent issues. If stay with 33s I'll probably go to 10" wides.

Oops. I meant 30s are stock. Having no issues with the 33s with stock suspension.
