Anyone changed out motors and still have the old engine perches????? I am in need of a set, even if they are not perfect, as long as they can be made usable. Thanks for any suggestions, ideas, leads advice and help.
i have a 66 bronco im gonna update with a 351w & new tranny, possibly a 5 speed if it works with the transfer case cause im gonna keep the original transfer case & gears, still works great,it still has the original inline 170 6 cyl, runs good but beleive either the head or block is cracked, overheats alot & get antifreeze in oil,,havent tore into her yet till i decide exactly what im doin,as in "perches",im really not quite sure what you mean,is it an extension from the frame to the motor mounts?
The perches are what you will have to cut off your Bronco and weld new ones in for the conversion. They come off the frame and what the motor mounts bolt directly on. If you can remove them without damage, I would be very interested. These perches dont have any value since most people change to a V-8. But I am putting a 6 cyl in a leftover parts Bronco. Let me know. I am already bolting things back together. Thanks
i can remove em without damage with no problems,im a union ironworker, have all the neat little tools to do such projects,lol.But.i wont be doing it for about a month or so,maybe longer,be workin some crazy hrs here soon, let me know if your still interested
Hey thanks. I have one lead right now on a front section of frame. If it doesnt work out I will be in touch. Then wait patiently for my UPS driver to knock on the door.
do you need any other 6 cyl parts? I just swapped out my 170 for a SEFI 5.0, and I still have the 3 speed and t-case, bell housing, flywheel, radiator, and Dana 30 front endw/4/11's. Drop me a line if you need anything, sorry the torch got a hold of the perches, and the perches lost! Perches can be salvaged, as I salvaged a v-8 set off another frame for my swap.
