STAKES for '50s FORD Script Flatbeds
I am restoring a mid-50's Ford stakebed for my '56 F-350 dually, and have 16 of the 20 steel stakes necessary stakes to complete a full set of side boards. Does anybody know if these are available from FORD or another source? I think the stakes were used for many years on many variations of FORD stake beds.
The stakes are stamped and formed steel, 35" total length. The area that goes into the stake pocket is a rectangle 1.5" x 3"
I just need four to complete the set. I am replacing all the wood, so that is not a factor.
Pictures of the F-350 can be seen in My Garage. Here are photos of each side of the metal stakes:

Thanks and regards, Jeff

I don't know where you can buy new ones (Maybe MarK ? MAR-K Catalog - Select Your Truck ) but I know almost all of mine are broken or cracked down near the base where they ride in the stake pockets.
I have a line on a few more used stakebeds sides but have yet to pick them up.
I imagine they are the same up into modern day stakebed pockets. Maybe Try a truck and trailer supply house place?
good luck
Josh

Thanks Josh, I will take a look at Mar-K. I am getting my new bed skid strips from them. Mar-K makes the skid strips to order - even the square holes.
A couple of my stakes were broke, but not badly. I was able to patch them up well enough for my light duty uses.
Thanks for the suggestions, Jeff
