Project Tactical Mulisha restoration

Though I would post some pictures of my 99 project restoration that I am undertaking. A little background about my truck. I purchased my super duty about 3 years ago mainly to tow my boat. Recently I have been doing some upgrades as I am now making the truck my main vehicle. I have about 155k and have done DP tuner, MBRP 4", HPX, 6637, Clays IC boots, OCR, Autometer pyro, boost, trans with pod and Green stuff pads with cross drilled and slotted rotors all the way around. 4 days ago I started a more intense restoration to include, 06 Lariat heated seats, 8" sub with custom box, X-code springs, 99.5+ track bar which I am making adjustable, POR 15 the frame, black out all badges, grille and bumpers, running boards, paint diffs, put in Harley lights and hutch and harpoon mods. Feel free to leave feedback as I progress along. Stock truck with my boat
05 Grille I did a few years back along with 05 tow mirros
Front end all torn down for X-codes

X-codes going in
Found this bent sway bar bracket PO must have hit something

Been working on the truck pretty consistently, heres where I am so far. Finished up putting the X-codes in today. Straightened my sway bar mount and installed new bushings, I know I will have re-measure but preliminary results are a 1.5" lift just by putting X-codes in. Planning on spending tomorrow cleaning up the rusty frame.

Took bed off

Bed overall is in good condition just need to replace the crossmembers

X-codes in

I thought X codes springs had three leafs? They are the heavy duty one correct? Just wondering cause I'd like to replace my front leafs on my 99 crewcab also. Seems they are a little weaker then new.

Thanks Guitarpicr its a lot of work but I figured if I grouped things together it wouldnt be all that bad. I am planning on doing the in tank mods either today or tomorrow. Its supposed to be 95 here today so I am gonna try and take it easy.
Bonanza35 none of the factory springs for our trucks have 3 springs in the front. Yes the X-codes are 6000 pound springs and came as an option as a part of a snow plow package. They are much stiffer and like in my case lifted my truck 1.75" on the driver and 1.5" on the passenger. Seems my driver springs was sagging a little more. When you go to replace the springs get them from Tousley Ford Parts Depot I checked EVERYWHERE and they are the best priced, even including a $50 shipping charge they were much less than my local dealer who couldnt be bothered with price matching. I used to work for a large company as a corporate employee and we had a saying that you cant bring margin to the bank. It does not make sense to me why companies have unreasonable prices when all you have to do is use the internet and do a little searching and you can save all kinds of money. Ill stop my rant now.....

Project updates

Hey guys wanted to give you some updates with pictures. Sorry I havent been responding I didnt realize their were more comments.

BadDogKuzz its a 96 Baja 240 25 yr anniversary edition with a 454. I actually just sold it. Was a fun boat did 68mph on GPS.

Robbragiel yes I am looking to replace the rear bumper with one from an 08. Ill let you know as soon as its for sale.

Anyway back to the truck. I just finished painting the frame with POR 15 today. Prep was pretty straight forward just followed the directions. So far I am quite pleased with the results. Also completed both the hutch and harpoon mods with the bed off, installed KYB shocks, changed front and rear diff fluids with mobil 1, removed exhaust clamps and welded joints.
The seat pictures are from an 08 interior I purchased with the driver seat showing some wear. I purchased a kit online from Leather Repair Kits - Do it yourself leather repair products for furniture auto just about anything leather or vinyl and restored my seat. I think the pictures are pretty self explanatory. Only thing I am going to do is try airbrushing a little of the colorant to blend it a bit better. As you can see from the pictures I had 2 dime sized holes which the repair compound from the kit repaired just as described. The kit also came with a bottle of leather colorant which in my case matched the seats PERFECTLY. I would highly reccommend this kit if you need to repair any leather.
I decided to cover the Ford emblems with 3m wrap and then overlay with Grenade decals. I did this on the tailgate as well. Pictures to follow.
Lastly the crossmembers on my bed were shot. I have a really good friend who was able to fab them up for me at no charge out of 1/8 sheet metal. I am planning on taking the old ones out and welding new ones in tomorrow.
