thrush welded or cherry bomb pro

I decided to take part of my graduation money and put a actual exhaust on my truck. Im gonna do single 3" into dual 2.5". I dont wanna break the bank for flowmasters or magnablows. Does any body have thoughts or opinions on whether the cherry bomb pros or thrush welded would sound better on my 5.0? I want something aggressive and something i can hear inside my cab

Glasspacks = nasty sound

I think that's why they faded away from the 50s. I like the sound of chambered mufflers. I have been after the sound of the 5.0 mustangs running an x-pipe and I have gone through so many setups and still can't duplicate not even relatively close....

Summit racing has a muffler, i believe its the street and strip, that is udentical to the flowmaster 40. Im running 2 of them on my truck and they sound really good. And the pair of them cost less than 1 flowmaster. Just a suggestion.
Otherwise, i like thrush better than cherry bomb.
Oh and congrats on graduating. I also graduated this year

Thrush. I used these mufflers when I had my 5.0 and now that I have a 5.8 they sound even better. Same aggressive tone, just deeper and throatier.

I idle when warm

Cold start and rev. Max rpm = 4000

Of course everything sounds better in person.

Well the extreme is just outta my price range. I got 500 to spend. If i go headers and summit street strip it'll cost me $200 plus roughly $280 for the shop to welded me a y pipe and install the whole thing

I vote for Thrush Welded! Im a HUGE fan of Thrush. Iv got true duals w/ Thrush glasspacks on my El Camino and it sounds amazing! I put a Thrush Welded in place of my stock muffler on my old 4.0 Ranger and it sounded damn good for a 6 cyl. I cant even imagine what theyd sound like on a V8! And theyre cheap! Picked up my Thrush Welded for $30

What part number? Short or long tube? I'd get ceramic coated if you live in the rust belt. If going with short tube, they are just repackaged Pacesetter headers that will rust out in about 2 years if you live where they use salt for the roads.

I myself like the cherry bomb extreme

I dont think summit offers long tube headers for 87-96 trucks. I looked last night and the cheapest LTs i found were flowtechs that were $10 cheaper than summit's shorties
