Dangling Connector

While under the truck today installing the new steering stabilizer I noticed a connector dangling towards the rear of the truck (see the photo) - it's on the left side of the spare as you're looking at the back of the truck. Anyone know what it is and where, exactly, it's supposed to go?

Might be the connector for 5th wheel hitch.

I believe that is the connection for the in-bed 7-pin trailer plug for gooseneck/fifth wheel trailers.

I've never had one, towed fifth wheels for years, always just use the bumper plug.

Of course, it could be a number of things and I could not speculate.

It's interesting - one would think that if it were for a gooseneck setup that it would be more towards the center of the bed, but then again maybe not. There's that other connector there next to the dangling one, it's attached to the frame ... appears to be capped off in some way.

That is the connector for the fifth wheel prep. The other connector is the larger wire size charging connector to provide for charging the battery of the fifth wheel.
