Which Axle?

Ok guys. I'm a little confused. I need to pull the rotors off of my 1990 F250 to have them turned. I know I need a spanner wrench, or lock nut wrench, whatever you want to call it. Now, my question is this, I know that there were two different axle assemblies for this truck. Already had to take the wrong hubs back . I have the HD suspension, and the hubs that fit are for a 350, but mine is TTB, not solid like a 350. I remember seeing that most part stores keep spanner wrenches and it seems that they all said Dana 44. But, since the hubs for a standard D44 are way too small, won't the spanner wrench be also?

Any help, I need to get this done and want to make sure I got the right tools before I open up the hub.

Thanks guys

Your truck would have a Dana 50 TTB front axle since it is a heavy duty. The light duty F-250's used a Dana 44HD TTB. hope this helps

Which Axle?

This should be what you need.

You are probably in need of the hub socket that has the teeth protruding beyond the socket (6 I think). Usually these can be found at autoparts stores (Autozone, Napa, O'Reillys, etc.). I picked one up for about $9 from O'Reillys. Make sure to look for one for the 3/4 - 1 ton Ford truck axles as you may have been steered toward the 4 prong socket used for 1/2 tons.
Also, I had to use an impact wrench to remove the hub nut as the socket wrench kept slipping out of the prongs.
Good Luck.

Thanks all.

What I found is:

http://www.kd-tools.com/3246.htm

One of my employees used to be a mechanic, so I borrowed it from him.

And I think I will use an impact, I've seen that it take like 200ft/lbs and that's kind of hard to do while pushing in on the socket. I've got access to an electric one. It does seem to be the D50.

Steve, that's a cool looking tool. Do you still have the wiper regulators? I just keep spacing it. Let me know. Thanks.

Just learning about a real 4WD system, no more cheap GM IFS.
