1967 F-350 & P-350 Straight 6 Coooling?

Hello. I recently acquired for a project a 1967 Ford P-350 chassis based motorhome on a 122" wheelbase, powered by a straight 6 and an automatic. I have had it looked over a by a couple of people and both think it is a 300 CID with a C-6 tranny as I do not know enough yet to figure it out for myself. My Ford experience is with 1965 and on down vehicles so I need to hit the books to get up to speed after this is settled.

It needs a few items under the hood replaced and what I am wondering is if the radiator and mounts, etcetera off of a 1967 F-350 pickup with a straight 6 and auto will work as direct or very close to it replacements? I have been offered a 1967 F-350 flatbed ranch truck with under 100K original miles on a straight 6 with automatic as a parts source but wanted to learn more before committing to buying the ranch truck. Thank you for any replies.

Only way to tell is to compare what's under the hood on the F350. A digital camera will be a big help when you do this.

Welcome to FTE

No P Series with an I-6 was available with a C6 (17 trans pan bolt holes).

1965/72 F350 & P350/500 w/a 300 I-6 = MX Cruise-O-Matic, 14 trans pan bolt holes.

1965/74 P350/500 240 I-6 = C4, 11 trans pan bolt holes. 240 cancelled at the end of the 1974 model run.

1973/77 F350 & P350/500 300 I-6 = FMX Cruise-O-Matic, a modified MX, 14 trans pan bolt holes.

The FoMoCo trans ID tag located on the left (drivers) side of the case, bolted to the round servo cover. Do not be surprised if it's missing.

Vehicles are registered by their specific VIN's: The 4th digit of the 11 digit VIN is the engine code: A = 240 I-6 / B = 300 I-6.

Take into consideration that the engine may have been changed / 240/300 share the same block, the bore is the same (4.00"). The stroke is different: 240 = 3.18" .. 300 = 3.98."

The 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com.

There are too many F350 vs P Series front end/cooling parts to look up and compare, so I'd rather not spend hours doing it.
