Transmission identification info

I was told this came out of a 80's truck. Here is the numbers on the tag on the side of the transmission:

RAT ET JA8
FI TRFA 2126

I am trying to find more info about the transmission gear ratio, shift pattern and more details about this transmission and my google search and posting on other forums and yielded little results. Hope you guys might have some answers for me.

Thanks,

Craig

Does this have two shift arms on the driver side?

Top loaded, iron case, tin cover on top?

Info here, with pics in links.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ero-trans.html

Short version, it is Ford "303" all synchro 3 speed. Shift pattern is an H, with R in the upper left, 1st the lower left, 2nd the upper right and 3rd the lower right. The pattern is the same for column shift or floor shift as found in Mustangs and Cougars with that trans. (looking at the column while leaning forward and looking left from the passenger seat you will see the "H" of a column shifter)

Ratios varied, this stolen from another site and it does not show RAT ET, but you can determine the ratio pretty easy since the 1st ratio different enough to eyeball it:

I saw that form that you listed on another site but was not sure if that was going to be the same for me.

Glad to help. I had many miles of happy motoring (and some unhappy) with a "303" in my '65 Mustang.
