Another newbie!
Awaiting delivery of my 56 Meadow Mist Green, F100 D-code short bed. Pretty low optioned truck, 29,750 original miles. Mid-west truck, very original, well maintained and detailed. Has five original cream colored 15" wheels. Would like to upgrade to wider Gennies, possibly 8". Would like opinions or hear experiences with wheels sizes, offsets, tire sizes. Trying to achieve a wider look yet maintain everything else stock.

I'm here to congratulate you on your choice and chuckle at the notion of a high-optioned original equipment truck from this era. Knowing that the most of the buyers were workin' folk it isn't unusual to have single windshield wiper installs, no radio, and maybe a heater (dealer installed in most cases).
Sounds like you have quite a beauty headed your way. I'll let the smarter guys comment on the tire / wheel choices.
I would be remiss if I didn't ask for pics of your new ride.
