What does this parts catalog illustration (Section 30, page 5) refer to? Forged Axle.
Illustration Section 30, page 11: Stamped Axle.
Bill - You are right, as always. But, the axle isn't in question, just the spring seats. And, if I remember correctly they are the same for both axles - right?

I dunno, what's the OP's truck production date? Does it have a stamped or forged axle? Look at the applications for the little charmers in the text, sez: Before 5/82 or From 5/82.
When I saw the posted pic, I knew there was another. I was about to rag on Chris, then I noticed that you, a to the parts catalog, posted the pic.
So, you were unaware. You gotta look thru pics before posting them, cuz there may be more than one (like this example) for the same puppy.

My truck was built on 6.22.83, & has forged axles.
You can pick your friends.
You can pick your nose.
It is, however, frowned upon to attempt picking your friend's nose......
We do drive wrong, on the wrong side of the vehicle. While you lot drive on the wrong side of the road.
I'm guessing we all have to with the idiots that have no business getting behind the wheel, regardless of which side it's on.......
I've never been to Kiwi or Aussie lands, but if they drive like the Brit's then that's better than many I see in the States. One law, and one that's enforced, is that you must move back over to the left (our right) after overtaking (passing) on a multi-lane road.
I am infuriated by the drivers here, mostly of the same sex, that go to the left or passing lane on our freeways and camp there. IMHO they should have their licenses revoked as they are either incapable of changing lanes safely or because they think it is their "right". Driving isn't a right, it is a privilege and one they don't deserve.

I've never been "down under" either, but have driven in the UK and Germany. That is definitely the law on the Auto Bahn, and watch out, cuz on the Auto Bahn, the polizei drive unmarked cars (usually Bimmers).

There's a law about this here in Oklahoma. Sadly, the cops are usually either too busy being a left-lane hog or talking/texting on their cell phones while driving (or both), so it doesn't get enforced much..........
Just another example of the "do as I say, not as I do" attitude that runs rampant in modern society.

Whizzed down the 110 (Harbor) freeway yesterday to San Pedro to attend a USS Iowa (BB-61) confab. Digital freeway message signs said: TEXTING WHILE DRIVING -FINE- $159.00 +
We have no law here that sez you gotta move over after passing, also have no law here for "gawkers block" one reason the traffic is so horrid.
Coming home on the freeway took two hours (took me 30 minutes to get to Pedro), cuz it was bumper to bumper.
There was a 4 car fender bender off the freeway on the right shoulder. SOP here: Drivers slow down to a crawl and gawk at what's going on.
Long time local TV traffic reporter coined the term "gawkers block." When he retired, he moved to Tubac AZ, faaar away from freeways and gawkers.
