Hello nice people. I need help from you experts in a 4x4 problem.
Since I bought the truck brand new, I have had problems when trying to disengage the 4 hi or low. It only happens when the truck is under big forces in the sand or pulling the rv. When used the 4x4 under no big force, it didn't have problems to disengage. Some times when couldn't disengage, I put it in reverse and the tires didn't had traction, but I could hear a noise like metal grinding. Turned the truck off and it would work again.Today I used the 4x4 and the front wheels didn't engage. Neither hi or low. What I notice, when put it in 4 low the truck was in low, but only rear tires. Front tires didn't have traction. In 4 hi again, only rear tires had traction. Front tires didn't have traction. Also lock the hubs from auto to lock, and viceversa and happened nothing. Today happened again the grinding noise. Today was the worse one. I put the trany in reverse and D and the truck didn't move, only could hear the transfer case grinding bad. I had alot of trouble engaging the 2 low again. There is a problem in the transfer case. It disconnects the tranny from the shafts. Love the truck, but I'm fed up in the bunch of problems it has given to me.2 radiator leaks, hose leaking, thermostas problems, crappy continental tires, tranny in reverse problem, cup holder broken, ash tray broken, seat console broken, wore upholstery. Please who knows what to do, advice me. At this point, don't have money to take it to dealer. Thanks.

 

I'm going think you are talking about the '08. If the transfer case is grinding, I would start there.

Sounds like your truck was beat on pretty bad for all that is broken?
