Home thermostat settings

I set mine at about 79 when the A/C is running in the summer and 72 when the heat is on in the winter.

At work, the boss said 72 is law. It's colder than a well diggers tush some days.

What do you set it at?

Summer: I'm in Arizona and let the swamp cooler run all the time.

Winter: My thermostat has been broken for five or six years so I turn on the heat until it gets hot, turn it off, turn it on until it gets hot, turn it off... I was fixing it a few years ago but the phone rang or something and I haven't got back to it. Maybe next year.

Here in Mississippi it gets hot...
I like putting the AC on 50 let it run all summer, but since that cost alittle to much, I set it on 75 for the summer

Round about 72 during the winter, 75 during the summer. Provided the wife keeps the door closed

Furnace stays at 21*C

For those amercians that don't know celcius.
That's 72*F

21* x 2 +30 = 72*

We turn the A/C off about 4 weeks out of the year. The rest of the time it's set at 70 plus keep all of the ceiling fans running.

Heck with the electric bill, I like to be comfortable!!!

I think we've used the heat twice this past winter just to knock the chill off.

What's a thermostat? Actually, we use the heater a fair amount in the winter, usually set it to 68*. In the summer, we just open the doors and turn on the ceiling fan. I hooked up the A/C, well swamp cooler or evaporated air conditioner, 2 years ago and ran it twice. Once was to make sure that the pump and all was still good.

We live in the Sandia Mountains in New Mexico and it gets down to about 0 alot in the winter and maybe 95* in the summer.

Hey Mil1ion,
I Don't know where you came up with that formula for conversion, but it's inaccurate, and gets worse the higher the temp. 21*C=69.8*F

C*(X)1.8+32=F*
F*-32(X).555=C*
For some reason it was drilled into us in school, yet we still use F*, unless you work in a lab.

Now I know why Michelle is always cold.

We have a quick way of getting it close that's all.I didn't mean it to be gospel.

For temps above 0*C ONLY

Double the Celcius temp & add 30 gets you close.

We have a heated waterbed so in the winter the house is set for 62 F. That sounds cold but its not. About 75 F in the summer.
