So how does it look?
Anything look out place on this setup?
I just got done screwing in the screw all the way when i took these pics.
Before there was at least a 1/4" gap between the lever and head of the screw.
Before that it was screwed in all the way, so either way, it wont help make it shift at 60mph.
My '77 w/351M & C-6 has always kicked down from 3 to 2 at 55-60 if I punch it. On these transmissions, you want full throttle at about same time as kick down rod linkage stops. When I went from factory 2bbl / intake to Edelbrock Performer and Holley 650 in 1987 I had to make an extension for the linkage. I used a piece of steel with two holes, near an inch apart , each hole is 5/16" diameter and one deburred. I used other hole to fasten extension to KD rod with a 5/16" bolt and nut.
It alowed me to adjust and it worked with my newer Edelbrock 1405 600 carb too. It was meant for a 2bbl carb, the 4bbl intake moved the primaries forward as now there were secondaries .... so stock link is short.
Might be true for a 351/400....
For my 429 (just for reference I check today) I'm turning 2700 @ 60mpg and when I put it to the floor she jumps to 4200rpm and kicks out into third @ 75mpg. C-6 4.10 & 33's
