I got this truck a few months ago and it randomly just died. Wasn't getting fuel. We replaced the Fuel Pump, Fuel filter, Coil, Distributor Cap, Spark plug Wires, and Spark plugs, and after some tweaking with the distributor, it ran fine. We tried to start it yesterday and it would turn over fine but it wouldn't fire up. We messed with it again today and it fired right up, tweaked it about an 1/8th inch, and of course, it died again. Not really sure what to do. Suggestions?
EDIT: Sorry if I'm not more specific, I'm a noob to this. My dads a good mechanic, though.
Hi guys - new here.
I don't mean to highjack the thread, but I don't know how to start a new one.
I have an 86 F250 with a 91 fuel injected straight six and 4 speed in it. Engine is strong as an ox, but it has developed a massive stumble under load. So bad that I have to shift down to 3rd to gain speed again.
Any ideas? Any help is much appreciated!
Oh...no I found the place where I can post a new thread. I did not find the problem. As mentioned earlier - it stumbles pretty bad under load and mostly in 4th gear. It seems to run OK when I shift down into 3rd. I changed the fuel pump and the ignition coil. It also smogged OK...Maybe spark wires and or plugs?...
