Coolant filter location?

I am considering removing the jack from its storage area and installing the coolant filter in that area. Here is a pic where it might go, raised up a little. any comments?

Take lots of pics of it Rich, cause I'd like to do a coolant filter sometime this summer. Let us know how it fits there, looks like a good spot as long as you can access the filter ok.

Will the hood hinge clear it there?

I put mine on the alternator but may move it elsewhere once i get to hookin it all up I
think that would work if the hinge misses it and the hoses

It will fit but very close to the hood hinge, some say a miss is as good as a mile. Accessing the filter may be a problem too, but I really think I would like it there. I believe the filter head is suppose to be mounted lower than the top of the radiator, so that may be a problem for changing the filter.

If the system is under pressure, then does it make a difference if the head is lower or higher then the raditor??

I'd imagine there's quite the handful of folks running a Dieselsite kit with the filter on the cowl. Any of yall ever had problems?

I followed those instructions when installing mine, but did not use the shutoff's. IMO that is just another couple places that can leak. I'll just pinch off the hoses when changing the filter.

Don't know about the frame mount.

IDK I just read the instructions a little (usually don't) but the height and the statement that the hoses should be as short as possible. I new that would be a big problem with location.
