I installed my 50 gallon tank last year and love the added range it provides.. Absolutely no problems!! Filled it up in Niceville Florida and with an average speed of 80MPH, made it all the way to Ft.Worth.. Pumped 46 gallons to refill it.. Not too shabby at that speed!! I will say that it takes a little courage to ignore that low fuel light at first until you get used to how early it comes on.. You can safely roll another 100 miles with the light on if you're in a pinch.. Not advised under normal conditions!
How did you get it for that price $1086.14? I when to the site and it came up to $1204.60 for the 50 gallon one

I had my 50 Gallon Titan tank installed last week with the shield. The place where I had it done calibrated everything as part of the install price. I can now run 1200Km when not towing off of a single fill. Have to drive about 240Kms before the MTE will start counting down from 999KM. Nice for the long hauls or when you just want to aviod those price gouging towns. One thing that was noticable right away was how much better the truck rides with the extra weight. Before I had it done I went and asked my dealer if there any warranty issues. They said "Its just a bigger tank so why would there be". Sold me right then and there.

Doesnt sound like the brightest service writer. Replacing a tank can propose lots of opportunity for contamination to enter the fuel system. In addition its Ford who determines warranty validation not service writer. So he could say all he wants but in the end its not up to him.
Iplan to shop/install a 50 gal. Titan in the next few weeks. Ford salesman told me it had a 34 gal. (short bed). We hooked up to the Airstream (Classic 31ft. 7k lbs) and less than 50 miles into the trip I looked over at my wife and said "no way this thing has that large of a tank". Then I learned the truth. Next trip in to the dealer I mentioned the tank size to the salesman. He stayed with his 34 gal quote. Says it has a lot of reserve so you don't run out of diesel. Anyway, I've gone back and forth on replacing the current tank or adding a extra tank in the bed. I've decided on the replacement. Thanks for all of the good info. here. We have 4700 miles on our 2012 and love it.

That salesperson is an idiot with no product knowledge. Its not hard to find tank capacities with all the publications available from owners manuals to brochures to product guides. I went thru it with a saleperson as well when shopping, but i already had my facts. He was trying to sell me a SB and i explained why i wasnt interested and about the fuel capacity. He swore it had more and i stuck to my guns. He finally said he would go check and eventually came back saying i was right and could tell he felt stupid. I proceed to teach him other things about the truck that he had no idea about which was enjoyable at that point.

On the ball salesman.......
Something to consider especially with a short bed is the space taken up by an in bed tank. Even with the long bed that space can be valuable to you and justify the added expense of the in frame tank.
On on my second truck with a Titan, (GMC short bed first). Will be the first upgrade on the next truck.
