I have a 1999 sd v10 4x4. it has about 150k on it. this problem has started about a month ago. while in park, it idles kind of rough but not bad. but while in gear, it idles horrible, shaking and even lunging the truck. it even stalls out most of the time if i dont throw it in neutral at a stop light or something like that. i have replaced 3 coils and went trough the other 7, replaced the egr valve, and the pcv valve and also changed the plugs about 200 miles ago. put a computer on it, and all it said was bank 1 and bank 2 lean. took negative cable off for 5 minutes, and it hasnt changed a thing. i just ordered an idle control valve, but was wondering if this truck even has one on it. any ideas? please help. i have limited funds available to me.
Injectors can go bad as well. Just because you change out the coils the injectors can go bad.
Not that this would trip lean banks but a clean/new fuel filter could not hurt.
Really the only thing that I could think of is injectors at this time.
Just wait for a while or until the weekend is over, you will get some people to chime in who maybe have had this happen to them as well. You will get it fixed. just wait a bit.
i read in another post about this engine, but a newer one, that they didnt have IAC. I was wondering if this year even had one on it. and i will clean it asap and let yall know if it helps
the way im hearing it, the 99 -04 are the same styles? meaning all or most parts inter - change? is this correct?
Yes, that is correct. I know for a fact that the alternator is not the same between 00 and 02. Also the turn signal switch was different from 02 and up.
