Hey Pat - Bandit has a hitch in his giddy-up! He's been favoring his right paw for a few days now - doesn't like to put weight on it. Been through his pads looking for a thorn or something, nothing. He doesn't even wince. I can bend all of his joints and he just pants and licks my face. I cannot create pain no matter how I flex his joints. It's only when he puts weight on it. Vet said give him two adult aspirin a day to see if that would help. I'm pretty sure he hurt it chasing the ball - which he loves - and he hasn't been allowed for 4 days now. Still limping as bad as the first day. We've got an appointment for an x-ray on Thursday. But man I can't figure this out, and since I'm a guy that fixes stuff, I'm wondering if you've got any ideas. He's still going to the vet - but inquiring minds have to know! Thanks man.

I wish you luck, I have gone through SEVERAL of those moments where the dog just starts limping. Like you, I move him and up and down, looking for anything. Xrays and so on.. I just get something along the lines of "Brusied Muscle"
I always look forward, but hate to hear that. I like it, cause it will heal, hate it, cause there isnt a darn thing I can do about it. I am betting Bandit isnt staying off if it is he?
Thanks guys. Bandit isn't good at staying off it, no. Today we left him in the bedroom with the door closed so maybe he'll just stay on the bed all day... in the A/C the spoiled brat. Jodi is taking him to the vet this afternoon. I'll let you know what comes of it. Again, thanks for the support.
He has a crane. Last post I saw from him yesterday on FB he was fighting with one of the pan bolts.
thanks for all the offers to help guys.. really appreciate it.
it took me almost all of sunday to get the last bolt out of the oil pan (tough to get around the engine crossmember)... but i did get it out. put a new pan and all new hardware with bigger heads in. then i had to fight the engine mounts to get one to line back up that my dad bent (took the wrong bolts out and tweaked it when we tried yanking the motor out with the picker). but all is well on the underside now.
i still have the turbo off. going to put the EGR delete kit in tonight. then reverse-flush the oil cooler and the rest of the coolant system and button 'er back up. was hoping to drive it to work tomorrow but i'm thinking its going to be one more night in the garage tomorrow night before its good to go.
i wanted to do the turbo-back 4" exhaust system i have waiting to go in too.. but that may be next weeks project. that should be a breeze.
mORNING eVERYONE!!! Looking forward to another 110 degree day here in the shop.. oh boy. The nice thing is getting home, pool. What a GREAT thing. Use to be I would just go home and sit in the basement to cool off. Now.. POOL..
Bandit got his x-rays, the vet said "All dogs would be lucky to have bones this good!" So he didn't break anything. She did find a tender spot up under his shoulder, so she thinks he bruised it. He got a prescription of one a day pain pills. Just have to keep him off it for a couple of weeks while it heals. Which is so easy to do with 1.5 year old Shepherd! But! He'll be just fine and playing again in a couple of weeks.

As you already know.. good luck keeping him off his feet
