trans problem
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1 itxtNodeId="814"><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->i have a 68 f-100 with a 300 6 and c4 auto 3 speed recently had to swap motor when i did the switch forgot to look at crank and didnt take out pilot bushing but motor and trans still bolted up couldnt believe it noticed something wrong when i tried to turn crank to hook up torque converter and motor was to tight pulled motor took out bushing and reassembled now every gear is drive and motor runs like it has a govenor no high rpms what have i screwed up need help thought maybe trans pump was blown but i dont think so can anyone help figure out
Since you probably tried to pull it together with the bolts, you have probably trashed the pump in the transmission for one thing. Who knows if the engine would have ran right anyway but the only damage I could imagine would be to the thrust bearing. You probably have an unrelated issue there, like the distributor is off and the timing is real slow.
