Good morning Gerry.

Donn, My buddies kid will take on any of the diesels with his 12 valve. He pulled a trailer @ 14,000# up Spring Mountain out of Las Vegas. It is stepper than 6% the last 4 miles. He pulled it @ 70 mph & still had more but had to get out of it because of the curves. But he also runs a 10.33 1/4 mile with a Dodge Dart @ The Strip in Las Vegas. There is a guy that drives a 12 valve 2500 Ram 4x4 to the Strip & turns in the lo 12s.

It has cost me nothing except routine maintenance. I sure can't say that about the 86 F250 4x4 460/C6 I bought used when it was 11 years old the Dodge I bought @ 12 years old The Ford had 123,000 on it. It about broke me. I had easily over $12,000 into it. When it left the wife & I on the side of the freeway in rush hour traffic in Las Vegas in July it was history. I had only put 60,000 miles on it in 13 years.
I wish I would of bought a Dodge years ago. I had a 90 D250 360, 4 speed & it was a 2 wheel drive other wise I would still own it. It was a real good truck. I ran the crap out of it. In fact I thought about putting a 400 or 440 in it to tow our trailer. The 400 with a 440 crank makes one wicked torque motors. They will give a 512 Ford a real run for there money.
A buddy of mine has about 5 of the 12 valve Cummins in Dodge trucks. His boy has his pumped up pretty good. Big injectors pump mods etc. My buddy has a 2000 3500 with all the Banks stuff on his 12 valve. They have a 6500 Chevy & F650 Ford both with Cat Motors, The Ford his boy use to use to pull his drag car until it left him on the side of the road. The problem with the Ford was a Cat problem with the computer something that is a real problem with that Cat & Fords. Now he uses the Chevy.

Trav, That Dodge was playing with you or he didn't know how to drive. You give me any good 360 LA motor & I'll run the 5.8 Ford into the ground.
Back in the day I had a new 79 CK 20 Chevy 4x4 350 4 speed 3:73 gears. A buddy had a new 79 Ford F250 4x4 400 4 speed 3:55 gears & we raced 90 miles & he was 10 minutes behind me. I was drinking beer in the bar when he showed up & I kept drinking on him.
Craig
We don't have a 5.8L we have the 5.0L. That truck is a camper special to our 86 F150 that is. Our 86 F150 is pretty powerful I have put quite a few trucks to shame with it including my nieghbors 86 2500 4x4 Gmc 350 4 spd standard. I like our 86 alot but I was pretty surprised that V8 magnum could keep up. But that V8 magnum could have passed us if we wanted when we were hauling. Now I was driving the Dodge and I put my foot into anything when I am on backroads my dad not so much but I also didn't know where I was going so I just followed my dad. I think part of the reason I wasn't keeping up all the time was I wasn't use to driving a standard. ya his is a standard. I also had problems seeing over that long hood. But other then that it was a nice truck. I am waiting to see how the Dodge V10 competes against our 02 F250 V10. I like Dodge don't get me wrong but the body style is where I think they messed up and if I am driving it I don't care what it looks like but if it is mine it has to be decent.

Anyways Howdy guys me and my dad was off working around the yard again I think maybe pretty soon here we might fix the Expys front brakes but I don't know for sure probably not.

My dad got a couple of deuce and halfs a few years ago, one was complete, the other didn't have a cab top, we only had to drive them a little over an hour, and it SUCKED. You were wishing for ear plugs after the first 5 minutes on the road. They are kind of fun to play around on, but that is not something I would want to long haul for sure. He ended up selling the complete one back to the guy that gave it to him... how does that work..
I can only imagine how well a old dump truck rides empty..

Good Evening Everyone. Took a few hundred mile bike ride today. Got a new front tire along the way. I had ordered it from a shop & they mounted it while a buddy of mine from the town the shop is in went & had breakfast.
Anaconda Copper had a big mine in Northern NV from 1952-1979 I attached a picture of the pit today. The water is over 400 ft deep.

Hey those deuce and halfs are pure bad ***, they will run on just about anything you dump in them... not a whole lot of power, but gobs of torque with LOW LOW gears. that is why it only got maybe 5 mpg.

Ya I know but I would hate to drive them. About a year and a half ago my brother tried to get my dad to buy this 1986 F650 flatbed truck with a welding rig on it. I was able to talk my dad out of it because of the fact we already have 2 89 Flatbed fords an F250 and F350 why get a truck that we won't even use that much power out of. Our 02 V10 F250 pulls everything we need and more. I just never saw a reason to buy something like that you know? I mean it is like buying a 4x4 dually diesel f550 and using it as a daily driver to work which is on the other side of town it is just not practiacal you know? Me and my dad are the same we figure why buy something if you don't need it.

Trav, Your out of date with the real world. Driving big diesel 4x4 $65,000 worth to WalMart is the in thing. Groceries are heavy when you load four kids in the 4 door cab & that is the heaviest load it ever carries.
You need to come out in the real world every so often. Your only 16 years old. you should see how F--ing crazy it is out here. Your missing it by going to an online high school. Buying things that you don't need is also in as long as you can make payments & be in debt up to your ears it doesn't matter. LOL
