Front Shock Noise Keeps Coming Back
I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience with front shocks. I was getting a squeak in the front end and isolated it to the shock. When I removed the bolt, the threads had flattend out on the bolt. When I replaced the bolt, the sound was gone. It came back a few months later and I installed new shocks and new bolts. Well, 2 months later and the noise is back. My next option is to buy bolts with lock washers and nuts with plastic to try to "lock" them in. Anyone with helpful advice would be appreciated. The truck is a 1997 F-250 LD and I already changed the Lower Ball Joints.

Interesting.... I haven't had that problem on mine. Lower ball joints yes, but the trashing of shock bolts no. I have run Monroe Gasmatics up front for the last 50K.
