HI ALL, my new toy

Curt05, she manages 14-16 on her best day on the interstate. However she does a lot of in town driving so 10-12 is the norm. Stopping and starting kills the mileage. She is into the go pedal pretty hard.

Just did this 2 days ago. Reps to SNOWSEEKER for his description.
Something like this: "Lay down with your head by the gas pedal, and the PATS box is mounted towards the firewall and has 3 about 20 pin connectors in the bottom."
You will need a small mirror and a flashlight to read it. The number is on the sticker on TOP of the box & I think it was towards the front, passenger side.

Wow with work I got it, I need three hands LOL, I strategically held the mirror and a small flashlight, used the other hand to use the Ipod to take the picture of the code via the mirror, took to computer and used a program to horizontally flip the picture so I can read the number straight. Code worked like a charm. I also found out you can program your own code and it will keep the factory one.

So....... I took the EXC to the tranny shop because I thought it was making noise, I heard a belt like chirp upon 2nd gear shifting. Everyone on FTE and original tranny mechanic says its the tensioner and/or serpentine belt. I can live with that. He also stated with 143K on it, it should get serviced, so it's there now and they call me and said there is an unusal amount of metal on the magnet, which normally indicates a snap ring or sprag???? $750-1000 to pull and fix or MAY turn into a rebuild, $2600-3000 for stock, or $3200-3500 for upgraded towing tranny. My delimma is, I can still purchase the warranty for $1350 to cover the rebuild, but if it's just a fix, I'll be out a up to $750 dollars....
