I have a 2001 F-250 with the V-10 and about 30k miles. There's no question that it has the infamous exhaust flutter. 1800-2000 RPM its just there. Annoying as hell.
My question is has anyone successfully solved the problem? Is it worth the $1600 for the Banks Power Pack? How about the restricted Y-pipe from Ford?
Is there a real solution? I've read lots of threads and other than bending the inspection plate, I've not found anyone actually with exhaust flutter claim to have fixed the issue.
Ford had a fix for mine. They used a vibration dampener to solve the problem. The y-pipe vibrates back and forth, like a flow meter, and they just put a weight on it that hangs off about 6". It has to be placed in the right spot though. If you can't find it thru FORD, e-mail me and I'll see if I can help you.
