She Runs!!

Finally.

Got my 81 F-250 running again. She has not run in about a year and a half. Put A 351W in her and finally got her going tonight. Sounds great and runs pretty well for not doing any tuning yet.

New clutch is really touchy, I guess I need to break it in for a while. Any way, I am just excited that she is finally going again.

Need to tidy lines up, install a permanent fuel line, get a new battery, and get an exhaust system installed, and then she will be road worthy.

Yes, it is a nice feeling. Several times in the last 2 years I've had that feeling, so I can share your excitement. In fact, I'm looking forward to that feeling again in the near future - twice!

Looking forward to pictures and follow-up.

Congrats,

I've been slowly rebuilding a 351w for my truck over the last 2 1/2 years and can hardly wait to actually hear it run!

Took today off. Worked on her for 3 days to get 'er done.

Sure is a nice feling. I still need to do soem tidying up under the hood and get a few little things squared away, but it was great to hear her run.

She sounds great!! Seems like it took forever, but the light at the end of th tunnel is there, I just hope it is not a train coming.

Thanks for the responses.

Well, that did not work. I'll do some research and see if I can figure out how to attach pictures.

I guess since I can't post attachments, it won't work for me.

Is this right? Seems odd.

Did get the tach hooked up tonight as well as put in the permanent fuel line. Not the best, but it will work.

Your pics have to be hosted someplace on the web, like here on FTE in your albums or on Photobucket. Then copy the URL of the picture, and in the advanced editor click the postcard icon with a mountain showing. Paste the URL into the popup, save it, and the photo should show.

Only Supporters can directly attach pictures, the rest of us have to upload them to somewhere and use the IMG code to have them show up in posts.

You uploaded them to your Garage, that will work. look below each picture, use the IMG (aka BB) Code (just paste it into a post) to have the picture show up inline in your post.
