O.K., as if Monday's aren't bad enough. This guy just backed into my Expy. So, on my 2000 EB Expy, I need to replace the colored trim just above the wheelwell, the same colored trim at the bottom of the passenger driverside door and the center cap. Has anyone gotten away from buying these parts from the Ford dealer and found somewhere else. Of course when the cops showed up, the guy produced an insurance card, but when I called to report it to his insurance, they informed me that he had been cancelled back in November. Just my lucky day. Any help is appreciated...
Sorry to hear about your situation - that really bites. At least you didn't get hurt, though.
I don't think you'll be able to readily find non-dealer parts/panels/etc. for your truck - it's still pretty new. Do you have any way of tracking down the scumbag that hit you? I would think that you got his name/etc. and you can call the cops. At the very least, get a police report of some sort that states that it wasn't your fault and he doesn't have insurance. That way, your insurance might not get nasty with you. Try to contact the officer on the scene - I would think that presenting fraudulent information to a police officer isn't looked upon kindly in the courts.
I know it's a huge pain in the butt, but this guy might eventually T-bone a minivan full of kids or something. He should be held accountable for bumping your truck.
Good luck!
If you'd like, I can add something in the title about needing "legal advice", and I can make this thread sticky. Just let me know.
Until then, take care

OUCH! No insurance? Big problem in this state, and a hefty fine. 3-400 bones I believe, not including the court costs. As for your body parts, I was lucky to find a local salvage yard that had 3 Expy's hit in various places, and fount the body molding I needed. Might check there.
