the speedometer, gas, and all that was in the guage cluster stopped working. i have been using a bully dog to determine my speed and judge how much gas i have left. and as a result of this the oil temp wasnt working so my motor had locked up. putting my new motor in soon and i need to know how i could fix this, i think it is a short in a wire because the fuse blows everytime i pull back on the shifter. anybody else have this problem?? and know how to fix. thanks!
Welcome to FTE, Dane. If you'll give me a little more info on your truck's model year and which engine we're talking about I'll be happy to move your question to the appropriate technical forum.

On the 7.3 models, these symptoms are due to a short in the Overdrive cancel button harness. Here is a link. Not sure if it applies to your engine type but it's worth a shot.
that looks like thats what the problem is, im gonna try it tomorrow morning when i go to the shop. thanks man i appreciate it! ill let you know how it goes
