Temperature Gauge
With the vehicle off, the gauge needle is sitting on Hot in my 56, stock gauge. When I fire the engine up it drops to Cold and then slowly works its way up. I have never seen a gauge start at H. What is going on here? Is there a wire backward somewhere in the mix? Just trying to figure out where to start trouble shooting.

That is the normal operation. It doesn't work like modern gauges, it's actually a pretty complex system.
You should add your location to your Profile, and create a signature that tells us what year/model/engine your truck has.
