To get the "proper" rebuild kit, they are going to want the info on the tag. Does your carb still have a tag? It will look similar to this:

On that carb the numbers should be stamped into the air horn. It should be looking you in the face when you pull the air cleaner off.

If is the original carb, then it is a Motorcraft/Holley 4180 four barrel that is 600 cfm.

You can get a Holley kit that is available from Summit or a Motorcraft kit that you may

be able to get from a Ford dealer or off of e-bay. The Holley kit will be cheaper. I

would not use a kit that is not one of the above because of inferior parts that they use.

That looks like an aftermarket carb, the factory variants don't have a big Holley on them like that.

Where might the model number be listed on it? do you have a guess as to which carb i do have?

If it is a "Big Carb" like you mentioned that may explain why i get such crummy mpg's lol

Remove that black, plastic ring (air cleaner riser) and look for numbers stamped into the air horn, I'd be looking on the top-right.

Hey, wait a minute here, buddy!

I said "big *Holley*" referring to the large letters on the front float bowl, not trying to refer to the carb as a whole.

There are better carb guys than me here, they can maybe identify it better than I can.

That is definitely not the stock Motorcraft/Holley 4180 truck carburetor that your truck originally came with. The big "HOLLEY" letters and the lack of the carburetor vent on the fuel bowl for the connection to the charcoal canister is a dead give away.

It looks like an aftermarket Holley 4160 (600cfm) carburetor to me.

Definitely not stock.
The 4180 has a fuel inlet with a 7/8-20 threaded housing for a plastic mesh fuel filter sock and a flare fitting to couple to a rigid metal fuel line.
The list number and build date is similar to this illustration of a 4150 from the Holley website.
