normal sound??

Hey guys..so I've searched around and havent really found anything particular to my sound. For all i know, it may be a normal sound from the V10. When i get her up to about 70 to 75 (2200 - 2500 rpm) it just seems like it gets a much louder tone to it..almost as if needs to swith into another gear if that makes sense. From what Ive read im in the normal range as far as rpms and i know im definately in 4th already. Im just so used to my V8 Titan that is pretty smooth and quiet so Im not so sure that this tone isnt normal w/the X..

I though maybe exhaust manifold leak but i do not get any pinging sound as described and so far ive been able to look at the top studs/bolts and theyre all intact and completely rust free..that said, im gonna assume bottoms are similar but wont know for sure till i can get under and take a look.

any ideas? suggestions??

The V10 does roar when you get it over 2000 RPM.
I would not describe a manifold leak as a pinging sound, I would say it sounds more like ticking and stuttering. I have a manifold leak that I am going to fix real soon, and that is what it sounds like.

Also the manifold leak makes more sound when you are at a lower RPM and climbing, when your really ******* it, using the torque more than the HP.

I just bought my V10 EX last week and have been wondering about some of the sounds she makes. When cold she makes a loud pitch sound when under hard acceleration. Almost sounds like a turbo kicking in. I think I can here a bit of an exhaust leak, but I think it's coming from underneath.

My X doesnt seem to have any of those sounds so Im starting to think it is just that V10 music

So another question, how about when coming off the throttle at say 75, would an exhaust manifold leak start acting up then? at the point where some of the backpressure starts to build up? that seems to be another point where it gets a little louder

I forgot to mention that my EX is a V10 and has the high pitched turbo noise.

so to update this thread.. finally had a chance to take a better look and it doesnt appear i have any type of manifold leaks. I still have all my bolts and all sounds pretty good down there when i start er up..Also, had the mechaninc hook her up to check for any stored codes or new codes and he said nothing to report. So Im chalking it up to just being the normal sound of the exhaust coming from the V10 beast
