new to this forum and i'm wondering if there is anything i can do to boost my power in my 87' 4.9 l V-6 Bronco?? what are some things that might help?
also, besides rancho's, what are decent shocks, something mid price. i don't have it lifted.
Well, there is no replacement for displacement unless you're dealing with a 6.0 PowerStroke. So my suggestion is to put a Windsor in your Bronco. Pretty straight forward swap... although those sixes will pull out stumps.... Just like any engine, it depends on how much more performance you want. You can improve with an inake, header, and good flowing exhaust. You can put a cam in it. You can have the head ported and polished. You can deck the block. You can go crazy - it just all depends on how much cash you want to throw at it. Also, depending on what your goal is, maybe just changing out the gears in the axles will get you closer to what you want.
"Inline" means the cylinders are all in a line, as opposed to 2 lines, forming a "V" like a V-6 or V-8. An inline (I) engine is better for low-end torque than a V, but Vs make more power.
