Admin: Private messages disabled??

Admin: Private messages disabled??
I got an email saying that I had 2 private messages here. I went to check them and it says admin has disabled private messages.
What gives?
Is this a temp thing or are we not doing private messages any more?
How can I gain access to the messages?
