more power

hey i have a 1983 f250 with a 351w that im rebuilding. im puttin a 4 barrel intake and carb on it as well as a set of headers. any other way i can add low low cost performance?

The cam will make, or break, the engine. I used Comp Cams XE250H in a 351W I built and loved it. Torque comes in at 600 RPM, which is where you need it in a truck. Whatever you do, don't go with a cam that makes lots of HP at high RPM. You need torque at low RPM for a truck.

If you can find a set of GT40 heads from a 5.0L Explorer or 1st gen Lightning. They Flow much better over the stock heads. But the heads from an Explorer will need to be drilled for the bigger head bolts the 351w block uses. And while your at it, you can upgrade to ARP head studs.
