About 3 years ago i went with an LED over plasma because the plasmas put out sooo much heat. I havent had an issue with my LED tv yet. knock on wood. It's a Samsung. (got it thru crutchfield with free shipping and no tax--hint hint) Two different plasma owners i know have had problems with theirs. One had the back light bulbs die so he had to order a new one and install it. The other guy had overheating issues with the screen so it would shut off after awhile. He had to get it replaced under warranty.
I posted in this thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...?highlight=lcd I am still happy with my choice. Once I adjusted the backlight and hooked up the blue ray it is awesome. The xbox 360 is really fun now.
I am typically one of those early adopters as bigger is ALWAYS better
here's a great resource for days of reading --> AVS Forum
I've had crt's, plasma's, leds, and all worked well 'for what they were designed to do'
right now I am capped at a 65" sharp in the Den
(cuz momma says it can't be wider than the fireplace it's mounted on !)
and a 52" Samsung in the bedroom...(until I buy a new credenza, cuz she says.... )
Both have excellent pics for LED's and more than big enough for the room sizes !
I actually have 42" hdtv's in the closet for our 5th wheel outside viewing (cuz inside it's got a 42 and 32)
