01 transmission question

I have never had any indication of an issue with my transmission until the other day when i went to leave and it didn't want to move... I revved it up and it would barely catch and inch forward.... A little history, there is one small issue i had with the shifter, there is a bolt under the steering column that sometimes comes loose and i have to get in there and tighten it, it goes from shifter on column to linkage on trans. Anyway, i tightened that bolt and put a quart of trans fluid in and after about 10 minutes it engaged. BTW, it would go into reverse perfectly, and easily, when this happened just not forward....I am stumped, i hope it is not the trans going on me, any questions, comment's. or ideas? I would greatly appreciate it! thank's in advance...

Would it engage if you tried going into 1st? The torx screws are pretty common to work loose but there are also a few other adjustments that can be made.

the shifter was pretty loose, i tried droppping it into first but wasn't working... Other adjustment's? you have my attention, also, i have only found one torx screw under the column that holds that shifter linkage, it still feels sorta loose? i tightened it down tight...

Here's the torx screws.

Then you can adjust the Range Sensor PRND2L Adjustments

And to adjust the pointer there is a thumbwheel behind the fuse panel cover to move it.

But I fear you may have other issues, it's worth a shot to try though.
