Manual Transmission Cooler
Manual Transmission Cooler
I found a while back a transmission cooler for any standrad trans that has a PTO cover and it used a small radiator like setup on the PTO cover, that ran water to a bigger radiator via a pump. I thought it might be a good idea, for my build so if someone can point me int he right direction I would appreciate it!
Have you ever burned up a manual transmission due to fluid overheating?
Maybe if you are in some 24 hour road race where you shift 25 times a lap or something.
Or if you are towing in lower gears on hills.
Otherwise, it's a nice do-dad, but not really needed.

Does your tranny have an internal oil pump? The ZF 5 & 6 manuals speeds have a pump and they pump the tranny fluid into the radiator much like an automatic. And yes, many of the newer trucks need a cooler for a manual tranny.
Well its a Eaton 5 speed.... and it will probably in its near future be abused. I have seen what happens when fluid loses its oil like ability to lubricate properly. So I am just saving me some time and hassel and a just in case. Yes I have seen a trans that was burnt. Lol though it was a Clarks 4 spd with OD, and it was used for towing which would be a no no, it still had burnt oil in it so yes I will be safe.
The ZF 6 speed may have a pump, but the 5 speeds do not.
