Motorcycles and helmets...

Wabiker, unfortunately, it is a fashion show in some sense. I am self-concious of my appearance, as are many bikers. We are out there on the bike and every one can see you. You don't see too many bikers wearing their business suits, or kick-around-the- house clothes. Alot of guys will get their good jeans, leather boots, and vest on, to look the part of a "biker", even if they are just mild-mannered nerds or regular average people. There are too many people risking their lives by wearing lousy or no helmets just because they want to look good. If it wasn't an issue, then the states or Feds would just pass mandatory helmet laws and be done with it. But, alot of people have lobbied for freedom of choice when it comes to helmets and the debate will probably continue for a long time. I like the fact that in many places in the USA there is still the freedom to do as you please, I dislike the thought of the government telling us how to live our lives.
I hope that I will find a good helmet, that fits me,and looks good, and that I will feel safe in. I hope every one else can too.

Motorcycles and helmets...

... some people just dont get it.
What does trying to "look tough" have to do with being a biker...?

Personally I could care what less what other people think of my appearance or my bike...or my truck for that matter.

My decision to wear or not wear a helmut is a matter of preference not appearance...
