So heres the deal i cant bad mouth the cummins 12 valve, that being said my goal for this summer is to make the crewcab faster! I dont know if i can afford it but im gonna try like hell. Im thinkin chip, injectors, gauges, and intercooled. I already have a T500. Let me know your guys thoughts.
Your limiting factor will be clutch or trans if auto. Its hard to quick shift these zf5. I've got most of those items and my truck doesn't accelerate quick, but its fast. Its slow because I don't want to wreck my clutch or trans and its not a race truck so I don't try and break it.

I can't say anything bad about the 12v either smoky! My crw cab project originally started as a Cummins conversion.
Cummins didn't make any bad light - medium duty motors. Including the 6.7l. It's all choked down with emissions but still good. If youre talking stage IIs and good tunes you'll have a force to be reckoned with..........as long as your foe doesn't have a similarly budgeted build. Fortunately his truck may fall off of the motor during the run. Good luck. It will be fun either way.
Lol. Yea i was thinkin stage 1s, but if 2s is what it will take then thats what it shall be. It it a zf 47. Previous owner put a new clutch in, hopefully a decent product... Either way i am plannin on more power, if she blows then i will probably do the big nono and go with a 12 valver.. Or maybe a dt 466. i dont think it would be very cost effective and its a 4x4.

dt466 I thought that was simply the truck version of the psd?

No, that's the International inline six, was between 360 and 570ci. The International counterpart for the Powerstroke 7.3 is the T444E. The counterpart for the (bleah) 6.0 is the VT365 and the revised 6.4 is the MaxxForce 7.
Oh thats right. I get them confused I need to remember my harvest truck is the dt466 lol. Numbers are pretty close. I think either would be bad *** though.
