I have a 2000 f250 superduty and i was wanting to put the 05' centercaps on my wheels, im not talking about wheels, just centercaps, can i do this?? No charts say that you can or cant they just say its for that 05' model. They are both 8lug and mine now pop onto the lugs ... If i cant use them can someone please explain why.
NO. Because the axles on the 05 and up trucks are 2" wider than the 99-04 trucks. So the rear center cap is shallower on the 05 and up and hits the end of the axle 1st. Already tried it, wont work

I tried looking into this because my center cap was starting to fall off and i figured i might upgrade the looks a little. I ended up fixing mine to stay on but i personally think they are the same based on all the pictures and comparison to the old style ones but if others have tried it and not had any success then maybe they wont fit.
Yea the main reason i want to get more "shallow" ones is because i put 2" spacers on and now my open centercaps in the front for the hub are 2" inside of the actual hole, if that makes sense. Basically when i have to lock the hubs i have to stick my hand inside the centercap to turn it. I figure if they all hook onto lugnuts then they would fit but yea i dont know.
I have installed '05 FRONT center caps on my '01 FRONT wheels (and '01 truck) and they work perfectly. The shallow design of the '05 cap allows me to reach my SuperWinch manual hubs, and they look great.
The REAR caps may be a different story, as far as the axle sticking out too much or too little.
