We get alot of heat coming out from under the dash and in the glove box on our 1989 F350 crew cab. The heat in not coming out of the hvac vents and I have resealed the heater box so it is not leaking. Although it has made the glovebox perfect for heating baby food on trips it won't be nice durning the summer.
Thanks
On chevies, the heater core always has hot water going thru it. The heat to the cabin is controlled by a door flap that allows air to pass or not pass thru the core and into the cabin. A lot of times on a chevy, the door gets stuck or warped. Greasing it or replacing the door usually fixes the problem.
I would look into this. I have read that working on the heater of the Ford is very easy so worth a peek.
Check under the hood, on the passenger side, in the rear corner. There is a little solenoid(mechanical) that should have a linkage on it. It shuts the vents down. My linkage keeps popping off on my 90 250. When it does that, I get hot air in the cabin.
I had a similar problem. what i did was just put a ball valve in the water line that goes into the heater core. In the summer i shut it off. This doesnt affect the circulation of the water except through the core and it solved my problem
