1992 E150 Starcraft conversion Brake Bleeding Question

after a few days in the transmition area I think we have the trany ironed out. Now I need to move on to the brakes.

This van was given to my wife and we have maybe 120.00 invested in it so far. so we are way ahead of the game at the moment

however while working on the trany we discovered that a rear brake line had rusted through with a new one in hand I plan on changining it tommorow this van does have rear abs and I am wondering if there is a specific way to bleed these brakes or do I just do it like a normal brake system starting at the brake furthest from the master cylinder and working my way to the closest one?

also this van seems to have been some what neglected by previous owners and has sat for a few years before it came to us so is there anything else we need to look at while repairing the brakes other than the obvious general maintnance items

thanks

Normal procedure with the exception that the RABS valve has it's own bleeder screw.

You'll have to check everything for freedom of movement and condition.

Yes, correct sequence is right rear, left rear, RABS module, right front, left front.

Thank you both for the information. My son is picking up a connector we need to hook the new rear line in so we can bleed and check the function of the brakes. I am hoping to get this done tonight.

I will keep you all updated with any new information and questions

thanks

well after a few trips to town for new lines we through in the towel and went and got all new metal lines from front to back. checked the cylinder seals in the drums for leaks replaced shoes and pads all the way around.

Fillled the fluid and bleed the system as recommended. Finally no leaks

RABS light is no longer lit and we have full braking power.

as far as we can tell all that is left to get the brakes to 100% is to replace all 4 emergency brake cables.

thank you so much for the information it was very useful

Jon
