transmission questions
i want to pull my automatic out of my 86 and put a stick in it but i dont want a 4 speed i want a 5 speed so does any one know if i can put a ZF5speed in its a 90 out of a buddies that he totaled its off a 7.3 i got a 6.9 will it work and if so do i need a 7.3 or 6.9 bell housing or are they the same and what about the fly wheel and clutch assembly

Yep it'll work, same bell housing. I think unless your buddy's truck is a turbo, the flywheel will work. The flywheel for the turbo idi's has a different balance. The clutch assembly should work fine I think.
