After following ImSoQuasy's post asking for opinions on mufflers i decided to step outside of my box and see what else is out there. In the past I've been a big fan of the Dynomax Super Turbos and run them on just about everything. they have a great sound. One truck has a set of 40 series Flowmasters though. Always been the guy not wanting to pay more than $40 per muffler and now I'm thinking that i would be willing to for the '56 provided I like the sound. That and maybe find a new tune i may like.
I'll be puttin new pipes on the '56 real soon here and need to choose me some muffler to take with me. I'd like to ask you guys if you could post up some sound clips of your trucks and what your exhaust systems are. I'm looking for a particular sound and I'll know it when i hear it.
I'll be using 2.25" pipes off manifolds from behind a 390 FE straight out the back.
Hey... a flowmaster on those sixes don't sound bad at all! Thanks for posting that vid desi778.
I'm leaning to a pair of Flowmasters... There are alot of knockoffs out there now since Flomaster didn't renew their patent. A buddy is running a set of 'Flow Kings' on his Duster. Sound just like Flowmasters but at 1/2 the cost. Also kicked around Mangaflows too. I want something that sounds tough with a low rumble, will turn heads, but won't make it hard to talk to your passenger while blasting down the freeway.
Jeff- Eh, have patients, brother. Yours is commin... just around the corner. Keep on it and it will be running real soon! That Motormouth guy is pretty good though. I watched a couple of his other vids too.

Dano78,
Pardon the interruption... but I wanted to know if you've made a choice on the mufflers and if so could we here them?
I've decided to try out my local muffler guru who makes a product called Coffin. My appointment is this comming Monday and as soon as they are on you will be hearing them - hopefully not so loud this time.
Paul, you're not interrupting, but merely participating!
No not set in stone yet. Still bouncing around different brands and still spending hours on You-Tube trying to get good sound bites. It's hard to stay focused on that stupid web site...
Was really hoping to hear more sound clips from member here on the boards, from any vehicle (car or truck) running the same engine as I am or even otherwise. I am still slanted twards Dynomax Super Turbos or Flowmasters (more likely their knock-off brands) just because I am familiar with their sound. I have a pair of FlowTech Afterburners at my disposal that I have been considering too. I'd like a muffler that isn't too loud but loud enough to turn heads at a car show or cruising.
