Ok, I think I am going with the 6" from suspension specials and 37x12.50r20. Do I need to purchase blocks and new u-bolts for the rear end to level the truck? Also, What about driveshaft angle, pitman arm, brake lines? What problems am I going to run into with the 6" F250 lift on my X?
Sounds like what I have is what your looking for. I went with a 6" F250 lift from suspensionspecials.com. The 6" F250 kit gives you 8" on the Excursion. I have 18x9 Helo wheels +12 offset. The tires are Interco SS-M16's 37x13.50x18
Take a look at my gallery.Good Luck
Hey lowboy, your X looks killer. Is your X from williamstown? I always see one around that looks just like yours. I drive the all tinted black X that you might have seen around, but I got some questions about your lift.
1. Did you need to do anything to the drive shafts?
2. Did you piece together your kit or did it come that way?

You might need to move your bumper forward and ditch the blocker beam to run those wheels/tires with that lift.
I had 37x13.50R20 on my truck with my 8" lift and and you couldn't turn the wheel with the blocker beam on. The tire would hit the front bumper in certain conditions. We spaced the front bumper forward 3" and it cleared perfectly.
This may not be a problem for you with the slightly narrower tire, it also really depends on the offset. My wheels were 11" wide with a -50mm offset. If you get 20x9 wheels your offset should be more like -25mm and you might just clear the bumper.
Moving the bumper is not a big deal... just something to consider.
20x9 may give you spring rub at full lock, that is what lowboy has and his setup rubs
edit: lowboy has 18x9... but same idea
If you really want to go with 20x9 you want something with 4" backspace and -25mm offset, if You have more backspace than that... you're probably gonna rub
bear in mind that the stock setup is 4.5" BS and +12 offset, but that is also designed for a tire that is about 10" wide.
So if you go to something with -25mm offset you are pulling the tire out an inch and a half, plus your tire is at least an inch wider, so this means that the outer edge of the tread is gonna run about 2" further out than the stock setup.
You may need a small amount of fender flare to be legal...
Look at the picture in my sig, you can see those tires sticking out way past the fenders. That is -51mm with 13.5" wide tires. If you go -25mm and 12.5" you only bring it in an inch and a half from where it is in that picture.

I noticed you said you had a +12 offset. I was looking at 20x9 helo wheels. They have a 5.71in backspacing. What is your backspacing? Will those wheels not work for me with 37x12.50 nitto trail grapplers mts??

Yea you're right, I have a +12 offset 7" rim which makes a 4.5" backspace.
+12 with 9" pushes the tire in more.
The thing that is hard to understand is how offset relates to the backspace. You really need to understand what it all means.
You have a rim that is say 7" wide with a +12 offset that means that the mount point where the face of the wheel meet the hub is 12mm inside of the centerline of the rim edges.
I guess the simplest thing to think about is 4.5" backspace max
the wider the rim the more negative offset you need to make it go out and NOT in.
play with this thing a little bit and you'll understand more.
This is a 6" pro-comp lift with 37x13.50's on 17's. Used KMC Misfit rims and told them the details on the truck when ordered. They set the correct backspacing and I clear without rubbing or spacers. You may have to move a factory bumper forward a few inches though, not sure.
