You will be very glad you ordered it. I gave my 86 one to my son since my truck is completely rewired to 93/95 style.

I doubt you get off the hook that easy. There may very well be "translation" questions and after the rewire is finished, I've got several future projects planned down the road:
1. Upgrades to both fuel (lift pump, injectors, tweaking the injection pump)
&
air flow (turbo components and adding an intercooler)

2. 2WD to 4WD conversion - including a front axle swap to a Dana 60 and adding a gearvendor splitter the ZF 5 speed I'm already running.

3. Swapping from a stock to flatbed and integrating an additional fuel tank

All of these projects will offer me plenty of opportunity to ask you guys questions.

In the near term, I'm simply looking forward to having truck back on the road, driving it and returning the rental car.

very cool...lots of guys here to help with all that.

When you start getting questions about the diesel and turbo's...don't forget the diesel forum as well. There's a whole host of fella's there that live and breath the diesels
