Thinking about full timing.

My wife is a nurse and we have an opportunity to travel for a year or two while she does a travel nurse thing. We will have to home school our 9 yo. while we do it, I'm in construction and have been doing okay, but not like 3-4 years ago. I can do odd jobs etc. or get a local job.

Got the Ex in good towing shape and a decent sized camper 32bhds Jayco. My older kids are on their own, gonna rent the house partially furnished and store the rest of the stuff in my neighbors basement.

I am excited, prolly headed west somewhere. Wyoming comes up often in needs for this type job. I haven't spent but maybe a month of my life west of NC.

My wife is putting in her applications now, but they say it's a sure thing location is only up for grabs. We will stay at one place for 3-6 months then move on. How am I gonna take all my stuff?? Haha guess we will learn to do without... except my tools... and my fishing gear... and golf stuff... Crap.

Opportunity may be knocking...

Home schooling could be your most challenging and rewarding part. I have heard that there are some great programs out there that help you with this. May be a great way to spend more time with your 9 year old.

The Excursion is a great tow vehicle. Since you may be doing quite a bit of towing in mountainous / windy conditions, I would recommend a serious evaluation of your hitch. Consider Hensley or ProPride if you don't have this already. They will make your time behind the wheel much more relaxing and safer.

That's awesome! I hope someday I have the opportunity to even take a few months and travel! It will be tough to pack light and still have everything.

I am envious! I'd love to be able to do what you are doing. I was offered an oppurtunity to build a house in Boise but I can't do it without bringing my wife, so it didn't work out. It could have been a similar situation though. Good luck!

Yeah, I am excited. I think my daughter will have the time of her life. I just have to figure out how to store our things, pack light, going to a home schooling seminar next weekend, it seems overwhelming but in the end you just gotta do it and figure it out as you go I guess.

I have the Reese dual cam hitch that does very well and have towed thousands of carefree miles with that. We are going to the beach in a few weeks for 10 days so I'm gonna evaluate everything I can from there. I think I'll miss my workshop and tools the most... Oh yeah, Anyone want a goat haha.

Colorado has an online option for schooling K-12, maybe your school district has something similar. If that were the case then you would just have to have a laptop and internet connection. Sounds like a fun adventure.
