I have heard before that you can bolt a newer (1980-1996) F-series bed onto a dentside frame.
This has me wondering now, could i take the bumper from say, a 1996 and directly bolt it to my 1979 or do they mount entirely different?
Reason I'm wondering is I started welding together a custom back bumper for my '79 f150. I got an offer of $2,000 for the truck I think I'm going to take.
My buddy has a couple of '90 f150s and he'd be interested in buying my bumper if I continue to build it, but I'm not certain if I'll have to radically change my set of plans.
Does anyone have any experience in interchanging the bumpers?
