Smile Taking a 2012 Explorer XLT 4wd off road

This weekend I had the opportunity to drive my Explorer many hours on a wide variety of off road terrain in northern Michigan. From miles of rutted fire break roads, areas of heavy sand, wet mud trails and grassy pastures, the Explorer performed flawlessly! The Terain management system was easy to use and worked well. I even had the opportunity to run the Explorer up and down several wet grass covered 45 degree hills and it handled them without wheel spin or loss of traction at all. After reading some previous articles I will admit I was concerned about what the new Explorer would handle, but have to tell you it did great! Not saying it will cross rivers or climb mountains but you definitely can get out in the backwoods , have some fun off the main road and not get stuck!

Glad to hear that your new rig performed well and exceeded your expectations. Any chance that you took pictures of your adventures?
