Help - How Do I Remove the Clear Face

How do I remove the dash portion in front of the speedometer (the clear plastic that protects it) on a 2003 F-250.

I want to put a simple overlay (adhesive) over my cluster.

Any tips would be appreciated before I have parts all over the driveway (left over after I reassemble - hehehe).

Believe you pull the dash off and then there are a few screws around it.

So are you saying the Dash itself does not have screws and is "snapped in" similar to the kick panels?

I installed flamegauges on my truck and like cwb said, you half to pull the whole big plastic section back. Then unscrew the plastic lense that covers the gauges. The dash does use those pushin clips.I had to pull out my raido to get the thing out.Good luck

Like nickdoni said, and also, at least on my 01, the light switch had to be removed and possibly your stereo also.
Be carefull with the needles!!

Yeah I was warned about the needles. So being the not-so-handy man, I decided to go with the new face that just lays over and doesn't replace the gauges and tach, etc.

So now I understand ... the dash itself just pulls away from the front part of the dash (possibly after removing radio and headlight switch, etc). Then that fully exposes the clear plastic cover for the cluster area. Then there should be screws to undo to access the cluster itself.

I think I got it now. Time to order the part. Thanks for the heads up.

Just my opinion but I would not remove the headlight switch. It has been my experience that the wiring is long enough to move the dashwithout removing it and the fragile edges of that piece make it susceptable to breakage. And you will have to remove the radio for sure.

Mine poped out nice, small screw driver in the slot and no problems, pull out and un plug, good to go.

But if your way works, sounds good to me.

You know Yeti, I tried that and the darn thing would not come out. I had to replace mine so I pulled the whole dash and had to apply pressure to all the prongs and then two corners broke off Luckily I had the replacement standing by.
